Qom in mourning for the Lady of Honor; a glimpse of the atmosphere at the shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah (peace be upon her)

Today, Qom is immersed in mourning for the Lady of Honor, Lady Fatimah al-Ma'sumah (PBUH), filled with tears and the sounds of mourning. The holy shrine is crowded with devotees and pilgrims who honor her memory and status through prayers and mourning processions.

According to the Sedaye Sama News Agency, This morning, coinciding with the anniversary of the passing of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah (peace be upon her), the holy shrine of the Lady of Honor witnessed a vibrant gathering of devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). In the Imam Khomeini Hall, the Nadbah prayer was recited by Mahdi Salashoor, followed by a spiritual speech from Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Mohammadreza Abedini, filling the shrine with serenity and spirituality.

After the ceremony, the caretakers and pilgrims marched in mourning processions from Beit al-Noor to the holy shrine. Elegiac chants and poetry resonated through the alleys and streets leading to the shrine, as people commemorated the Lady of Honor with tears and sorrow.

Mourning groups and processions from across Qom gathered at the shrine, filling its courtyards and halls. Men, women, and youth each contributed with their own voices, spreading the atmosphere of mourning throughout the sacred space, and the Imam Reza Courtyard became a central gathering place for mourners.

A prominent feature of the day was the presence of Iranian and Iraqi service tents, offering tea, drinks, and simple meals to the pilgrims. Over 200 tents were set up around the shrine to relieve travelers’ fatigue and to display warmth, love, and solidarity through continuous service.

At noon, the official mourning ceremony began with a speech by Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Seyed Mirhashem Hosseini, whose words focused on the life and conduct of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah, inspiring reflection and contemplation. Then, renowned eulogists such as Mehdi Rasouli and Seyed Reza Narimani recited sorrowful chants that brought tears to the eyes of the attendees.

Even as evening approached, the courtyards and halls remained filled with pilgrims, as if no one wished to leave the sacred and spiritual atmosphere. Tears, murmurs, and the fervent presence of the crowd reflected the heartfelt connection between the people and the Lady of Honor.

The city of Qom was also immersed in mourning. From old alleys to main streets, the sounds of chants and prayers could be heard. People wore black, and markets and homes bore the marks of grief. A heavy and sorrowful silence enveloped the city.

As night fell, the evening ceremony commemorating Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah’s passing began at the shrine. The holy shrine, like a radiant jewel, was filled with fervor, tears, and prayers, as pilgrims approached the Lady of Honor with hearts full of love and sorrow. On this day, Qom became a city entirely immersed in spirituality and mourning for its revered lady.
