“The Struggle for the Holy Land”

Hawraa al Massri
The Palestinian issue is not a story that began overnight; it is a problem deeply rooted in history. Jerusalem has never experienced freedom since the dawn of history, and from the mandate period until today, it has lived under occupation and domination.
Palestine lived under British mandate from 1920 to 1948, after which the British handed power to the Zionist entity, which officially led Palestine from 1948 onward. From this point, a new chapter of exploitation and colonization began, as the Palestinian people no longer fought temporary British forces, but permanent forces seeking to expel them at any cost.
The occupiers committed crimes and massacres against Palestinians, shielded by Western support and false claims of legitimacy based on obscure texts.
Against this backdrop, the region witnessed numerous revolutions and uprisings, most notably the 1935 revolt of Izz al-Din al-Qassam, sparking the Great Palestinian Revolt. This was followed by the 1948 war (the Nakba), and the wars of 1956, 1967, and 1973, as well as numerous violent conflicts in Lebanon.
In all these events, the balance of power was unequal, as Palestinians fought tyrannical forces supported by the West, which sought to plunder resources and suppress free will.
“The Arab front made thousands of sacrifices and martyrs, paying a heavy price to confront this injustice.”
“Voices of Sacrifice Rise Above Voices of Surrender”
During these pivotal wars, some advocated surrender and acceptance of the Zionist entity as an inevitable reality, but the will of the people overcame all such attempts, keeping freedom and dignity alive as an enduring flame.
This land is the sole protector of our dignity and our Arab and Islamic nation; it will never yield to oppressive powers. If our ancestors had accepted humiliation in 1948, we would have faced slavery under colonial invaders.
Our pride today is the result of the sacrifices of our ancestors, who never bowed in submission and confronted the enemy with strength, perseverance, and resolve.
“Colonial Struggles… Human History”
Looking at the past, human history is filled with struggles against colonizers and the resistance of the oppressed against Western domination, not limited to battlefields. The human mind elevated society’s understanding of colonial schemes and allowed for resistance against exploitation and erasure of identity.
“The Mind is the Source of Freedom and Dignity”
In all these wars, reason and faith guided people, and educating youth about the nature of colonialism empowered them to fight domination and preserve Islamic and national identity.
History moves forward, and in our region, there is no place for surrender or acceptance of defeat. Humanity and dignity reject humiliation, and we will resist to the last breath, preserving honor and pride.
Ultimately, the will of the people remains free and unbreakable, and history will remember the heroes who chose freedom over humiliation and dignity over disgrace.
