A grand farewell in Sana’a for the founder of Yemen’s Military Self-Sufficiency Jihad.

According to Farouq Ali’s report, Yemenis last week held a grand funeral procession to bid farewell to the body of Major General Mohammad Abdulkarim al-Ghamari, Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces — a man whom many observers describe as the founder of Yemen’s indigenous military industries and the father of the country’s missile, drone, and naval programs.

Under the leadership of the martyred al-Ghamari and his comrades, Yemen’s military capabilities advanced to the point that the country became — after Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon — the fourth pillar of the Resistance Axis in the struggle against the United States, Israel, and their regional allies. This occurred during years of war and blockade imposed by the international coalition on one hand, and through Yemen’s participation in supporting Gaza over the past two years on the other.

Major General Mohammad Abdulkarim al-Ghamari was ultimately martyred on August 19, 2025, in a cowardly Israeli airstrike on Yemeni territory, together with his 13-year-old son Hussein and several of his bodyguards.
