High participation of the Iraqi armed forces in the special voting for the parliamentary elections

According to the Sedaye Sama News Agency, Iraqi media reported that voter turnout in the special voting for the Iraqi parliamentary elections has reached 63% in Diyala province and more than 50% in Basra province so far.
Saeed Kakayi, former member of Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission, emphasized that there has been a remarkable turnout in the special voting process.
Mustafa Hamid, a member of the local office of the Independent High Electoral Commission in Anbar province, also announced widespread participation in the special parliamentary elections for specific groups.
Smooth implementation of Iraq’s election security plan
Qais Al-Muhammadawi, head of the Supreme Security Committee for Elections in Iraq, stated that the process is progressing very well and that the security plan is being implemented precisely.
UN reaction to the first phase of Iraq’s parliamentary elections
The United Nations, in response to the first phase of Iraq’s sixth parliamentary elections — designated for the armed forces and displaced persons — announced its support for the electoral process in Iraq and stressed the importance of ensuring that it proceeds smoothly.
The UN also praised the organization and orderly conduct of Iraq’s parliamentary elections.
