Entry of fans from Iran and three other countries to the United States was banned

According to Sport 24, the U.S. government announced in a controversial move that the entry of fans of the national teams of Iran, Haiti, Senegal, and Ivory Coast into the United States during the World Cup will be banned due to national security considerations.
This decision by the Trump administration has sparked widespread international debate and controversy. The move comes as part of an expansion of the list of countries subject to entry visa restrictions, effectively depriving thousands of fans of the opportunity to directly support their national teams inside American stadiums.
The decision has faced strong criticism in sports and legal circles and has been described as an arbitrary measure targeting fans whose sole intention is to support their national teams at the world’s biggest football event.
The decision has been described as “unprecedented” in the history of the World Cup. According to the French newspaper L’Équipe, citing the account “The Touchline” on the X platform, the list could be expanded to include a fifth team, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is set to play in the playoffs.
According to the same sources, an executive order signed last week by U.S. President Donald Trump imposes a complete ban on travel by ordinary fans from the mentioned countries throughout the duration of the tournament. The only exceptions apply to official delegations of players, coaching staff, and their immediate families, while regular fans will be barred from attending matches in U.S. stadiums.
