The combined, live and mission-oriented exercise “Smart Control of the Strait of Hormuz”

has commenced led by the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and conducted under the supervision, control and field monitoring of the IRGC’s Commander-in-Chief, Major General Pakpour, in the strategic region of the Strait of Hormuz.
Assessing the operational readiness of IRGC Navy units, reviewing security plans and counter-military response scenarios in the face of potential security and military threats in the Strait of Hormuz, and making intelligent use of the geopolitical advantages of the Islamic Republic in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are among the main objectives of the exercise.
Rapid, decisive and comprehensive response by IRGC operational forces to anti-security plots in the maritime domain forms the core of the intelligence and operational drills of the units participating in this exercise.
