Ghalibaf: There will be no negotiations until our economic interests are guaranteed

Mohammad Bagheri Ghalibaf, in an interview with CNN, stated:
“We do not reject the principle of dialogue and diplomacy, but diplomacy must be genuine, based on mutual respect, and accompanied by guarantees, because no diplomacy can succeed without trust and guarantees.”
He emphasized that it is difficult to trust former President Trump again after his actions and reactions. “Negotiations under the shadow of war only exacerbate tensions. There will be no negotiations until the economic benefits for the Iranian people are guaranteed, because we do not consider dictation to be negotiation. If Trump wants a Nobel Peace, he must distance himself from warmongers and submissive advisors around him.”
Ghalibaf continued: “If by dialogue we mean a real conversation, yes, we agree; but the U.S. president is not seeking dialogue, he is seeking imposition.”
The Speaker of Parliament recalled: “During the second term, Mr. Trump spoke of dialogue and Iran initiated talks, but before the sixth round, the U.S. bombed the negotiation table on June 13, 1983 (23 Khordad). This is not what can be called dialogue.”
He further stated: “We, the Iranian nation, are ourselves victims of violence. Terrorists have committed numerous crimes, including the attack on the office of the Islamic Republican Party on June 28, 1981 (7 Tir 1360). Members of Parliament, the president, the prime minister, and over 17,000 citizens were killed. The West, Europe, and countries like the U.S. have given refuge to these criminals.”
Ghalibaf added: “We, representatives of the nation, will seek justice for the blood of our martyrs in international courts. These events are the result of a definite foreign conspiracy and direct intervention, and those responsible must be held accountable. Within the country, we will pursue the matter transparently and decisively, and we will never hesitate in investigating all aspects of this crime.”
He highlighted the actions of terrorists in recent incidents: “In just two days, terrorists killed large numbers of civilians and more than 300 police officers using weapons, axes, and arson. This was a plot planned abroad, reflecting a Daesh-like behavior and a pseudo-terrorist coup.”
