Documented Narratives from the Family Life and Close Circle of Martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani

One of General Soleimani’s close companions, who served beside him for many years, describes his humble and simple way of life:

“Despite his heavy responsibilities and workload, whenever he arrived home, the first thing he did was to gently place his hand on his children’s heads and ask about their day — not with formal words, but with the affection of a caring father. He never allowed his duties to overshadow his family life.”

His noble daughter, Zeinab Soleimani, once mentioned in a speech that her father always reminded the family:

“We represent the people and the Resistance Front — but that never means seeking fame or reward. Our true worth lies in simplicity and honesty.”

Another account from a commander of the Quds Force, who often accompanied General Soleimani, states:

“Private meetings with Hajj Qassem were never only about military operations. He loved to talk about the future of the Resistance, the role of youth, and how to preserve morality and spirit. I remember several times after long military briefings, he would smile and say: ‘My friends, never forget — we fight for God, and this path is one of love and friendship.’”

One of the images published after his martyrdom shows his family and companions gathered together in Kerman — a moment reflecting deep unity, faith, and affection among his loved ones and comrades.

In various international ceremonies, especially across countries of the Resistance Axis, Zeinab Soleimani has conveyed her father’s message, saying:

“My father always said that our enemies may be strong, but we possess the power of faith and truth. Our path will continue until justice prevails.”

These accounts and memories paint a deeply human portrait of the Commander of Hearts — a man who, beyond his leadership and military prowess, was a compassionate father and a loyal friend. His humility and devotion have kept his memory alive not only on the battlefields but also in the hearts of his family, comrades, and millions who admired him.

Summaries of Interviews and Testimonies from His Family and Companions

Zeinab Soleimani (Daughter of the Martyr):
In one of her key speeches at a memorial ceremony, Zeinab said:

“My father always told us never to misuse his position. He taught us that humility and simplicity are the highest honors, and we will continue this path to the end.”
In another interview, she emphasized that at home, her father was first and foremost a loving, caring father who, despite all hardships, was always concerned for his family.

Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh (Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force) spoke of Soleimani in a special interview:
He described him as “a man of sincerity, honesty, courage, loyalty to the Leader, and steadfastness,” who through his martyrdom “became a phenomenon that changed the course of regional history.”
Hajizadeh added that Soleimani, with sharp insight and obedience to the Supreme Leader’s guidance, thwarted the plots of the global hegemonic system led by the U.S. and transformed the threat of Takfiri groups like ISIS into an opportunity.
He also recalled a meeting with then-President Rouhani, in which Soleimani firmly warned that “defending the Revolution, the nation, and the Leadership is a red line,” and that internal division and attacking one’s own forces were unacceptable.
Hajizadeh emphasized that Soleimani rejected compromise-based diplomacy and believed that “dependence leads nowhere.” He considered the Soleimani School a practical model for implementing Islamic values in every aspect of life, reminding everyone that “each person can become a ‘Hajj Qassem’ in their own mission.”

A Veteran Companion from the Iran-Iraq War:

“I fought alongside him for years. In the toughest moments, he was the simplest among us. After each operation, his first question was always about the well-being of the soldiers and their families. I remember once, amid a critical battle, he smiled and said jokingly, ‘Don’t worry, Hajj is always watching over you!’”

Eyewitness at His Funeral in Kerman:

“The presence of his family and the people showed the deep love and devotion toward Hajj Qassem. There, people weren’t mourning just a commander — they were remembering a man who united hearts. Everyone spoke with one voice about a leader who was both humble and unmatched.”

The life of Martyr Qassem Soleimani, both on the battlefield and in his personal relations, was filled with lessons of loyalty, sincerity, and struggle against betrayal. His profound friendships with figures like Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah reflected his vast heart and unshakable faith.
Despite facing deceit and betrayal from some individuals and groups, Soleimani’s wisdom and vision enabled him to overcome every trial. His humble, spiritual lifestyle remains proof that he was not only a military commander but a noble human being — and a timeless role model for all who seek truth and dignity.
