According to Sedaye SAMA News Agency, a ceremony commemorating the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance (November 4) was held this morning in a spirited atmosphere, attended by various groups of people and a number of national officials in front of the former U.S. Embassy in Tehran.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, highlighted the significance of November 4, stating:
“Students and pupils should know that before the Islamic Revolution, they played an important role in confronting arrogance. Their most significant act was the seizure of the U.S. espionage den on November 4, 1979, which exposed America’s hostility toward the Iranian people. They also offered the highest number of martyrs during the Sacred Defense era. The nature of the hegemonic system has not changed; just as Carter conspired against the Iranian people, today the same arrogant mindset assassinates our scientists in Tehran and believes it has the right to do so. They do not want a strong and independent Iran.”

Dr. Ghalibaf added:
“Today, the deadly weapon of arrogance is the injection of despair and self-deprecation through the media empire. Through the media and cyberspace, they try in every possible way to implant in the minds of our youth the notion that progress is impossible without submission and dependence on the West.”

He emphasized:

“In fact, November 4 symbolizes rationality and independence in the face of arrogance and extortion.”

And he stated:

“The slogan Death to America means death to domination, not death to nations.”
“Death to America means death to the logic of arrogance.”
