Imam Khamenei: The aggression of the U.S. military was overcome by the bravery and sacrifices of Iran’s young people

Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, in a message to the 59th Annual Meeting of the Union of Islamic Student Associations in Europe, referred to the defeat of the heavy assault by the U.S. Army and its disgraceful offshoot in the region, brought about by the initiative, courage, and self-sacrifice of the youth of Islamic Iran. He emphasized that the main cause of the turmoil among corrupt and domineering powers is not the nuclear issue, but rather Iran’s raising of the banner of resistance to the unjust global order and the dominance of the system of arrogance, and its turn toward a just national and international order.

The text of the message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Dear young people,

This year, your country, by virtue of faith, unity, and self-confidence, has attained a new stature and credibility in the world. The heavy assault of the U.S. Army and its disgraceful offshoot in this region were defeated by the initiative, courage, and self-sacrifice of the youth of Islamic Iran. It has been proven that the Iranian nation, by relying on its own capabilities, under the light of faith and righteous action, and in confronting arrogant, corrupt, and oppressive powers, can stand firm and convey the call to Islamic values to the world with a louder voice than ever before.

The deep sorrow over the martyrdom of a number of our scientists, commanders, and dear people has not and will not be able to halt the determined youth of Iran; the families of those martyrs themselves stand among the pioneers of this movement.

The issue is not the nuclear debate or matters of that sort. The issue is confronting the unjust global order and the dominance of the system of arrogance in today’s world, and turning toward a just Islamic national and international order. This is the great claim whose banner Islamic Iran has raised, unsettling the corrupt and domineering powers.

You students, especially those abroad, bear a share of this great responsibility. Entrust your hearts to God, recognize your capabilities, and guide the associations along this path.

God is with you, and complete victory awaits you, God willing.
