The Red Crescent Society mobilized following warnings of potential floods in the northern part of the country.

Following the issuance of an orange-level warning by the Meteorological Authority regarding heavy rainfall and potential floods in the northern governorates of the country, the Deputy Operations Officer of the Relief and Rescue Organization at the Red Crescent Society announced a full mobilization of all relief and operational forces.

According to the news website “Sedaye Sama”, Mohammad Hossein Kabadi, Deputy Operations Officer at the Red Crescent Society, announced the issuance of an orange-level warning for the northern governorates. He noted that from September 20 to 22 (29 to 31 Shahrivar), heavy rainfall is expected, along with lightning, strong winds, and the possibility of cold weather and dust storms in Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, Ardabil, and the eastern half of East Azerbaijan.

He warned that these conditions could cause floods, water accumulation, road landslides, and falling rocks in mountainous areas, emphasizing full preparedness of the relief forces.

Kabadi urged citizens to avoid setting up tents near rivers, unnecessary travel, and mountain climbing activities, and to contact 112 if they require relief services.
