Forecast of attracting 100 billion dollars of domestic investment in the Seventh Development Plan
An investment sector activist stated that despite possessing 11% of the world's natural resources and a skilled workforce, Iran does not have a proportionate share of economic growth.

According to the Sedaye Sama News Agency, Mohammadreza Ghaderi, an investment sector activist, stated that despite Iran possessing vast economic capacities and 11% of the world’s natural resources, it does not have a proportionate share of global economic growth. The country has about 1% of the world’s population, yet its economic performance is not aligned with these capacities, and the solution to this gap is strengthening investment.
Ghaderi, referring to this year being named “Investment for Production,” emphasized that investments should be directed toward realizing existing capacities to increase production and export surpluses, as higher gross domestic production leads to economic growth.
He noted that part of the investment can be domestic, but achieving an economic leap requires seriously attracting foreign investment, which he described as the missing link that needs strategic planning and policy.
Referring to the Seventh Development Plan, Ghaderi explained that $200 billion in investment is projected, with $100 billion domestic and $100 billion foreign. However, under the current trend, the foreign portion may reach only $5 billion. He also highlighted the necessity of creating a national investment brand and providing the infrastructure for Iran to be recognized as a safe investment destination.
He added that last year about $500 million in agreements were signed at the Kish Investment Exhibition, with $100 million operational and licensed, and in the first five months of this year about $900 million in investment licenses were issued, which could exceed $2 billion if the trend continues. Despite the 12-day aggression by the Israeli regime, overall investment trends remain positive, with infrastructure projects still being the most attractive for investors.
