Trump: Canada survives because of us / The Iron Dome is American

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, claimed on Wednesday afternoon during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, that after 12 months since his return to the White House, the United States is witnessing economic prosperity. He said, “So far, we have brought back 18 trillion dollars in investment to our country.”

Trump asserted that “the United States is the economic engine of the world; when it grows, other countries grow as well, and when it declines, others decline with it.”

He stated that “Europe is not moving in the right direction.”

The U.S. president continued, “Venezuela was a very good country 20 years ago, but now it is facing problems. However, we are now helping them.”

Trump also said, “By a wide margin, we are leading all countries of the world in artificial intelligence, and in this field we have surpassed China.”

He added, “No country or group of countries other than the United States is capable of ensuring the security of Greenland. We are a great power—much greater than people imagine. I think they realized this two weeks ago in Venezuela” (a reference to the U.S. terrorist operation to abduct Venezuela’s legitimate president). “We saw this in World War II, when Denmark surrendered to Germany after just six hours of fighting and was completely incapable of defending itself or Greenland.”

Regarding NATO, Trump said, “The United States was effectively paying 100 percent of NATO’s costs, and I stopped that. I said it was unfair. But more importantly, I forced NATO members to pay five percent, and now they are doing it.”

In another part of his remarks, the U.S. president attacked Canada, saying, “Canada survives because of the United States. Next time you speak, Mark Carney (the Prime Minister of Canada), remember that.”

Addressing Europe over Greenland, Trump said, “They have a choice. They can say yes, and we will be very grateful. Or they can say no, and we will remember it.”

On Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system, Trump said, “I told Netanyahu to keep his hands off that dome; this technology belongs to us. We did this for Israel.” / Tasnim
