6 Million Liters of Diesel Allocated for Arbaeen Transportation Fleet
According to Sedaye Sama News, Hamid Habibi, Commercial Director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), announced that approximately 6 million liters of diesel fuel have been allocated to support transportation services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
He stated that, as a public service company, NIOPDC is responsible each year for supplying fuel to the transportation fleet involved in Arbaeen operations, adding that the annual fuel distribution program has evolved into a well-organized and professional operation.
Habibi said planning meetings have been held continuously over the past three months within the Arbaeen Travel Facilitation Headquarters to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply for pilgrims’ transportation.
He explained that the allocated diesel will be provided to buses and diesel-powered trucks transporting pilgrims and cargo related to the Arbaeen ceremonies. Fuel will be delivered to locations designated by the headquarters using NIOPDC fuel tankers or approved transport fleets.
He stressed that the company is fully prepared to supply fuel for government, public, and private transportation fleets, as well as pilgrims’ personal vehicles, both along domestic routes and at designated locations inside Iraq.
Habibi also announced that mobile fuel stations have been deployed at all border crossings—from Tamarchin in West Azerbaijan Province to border terminals in Khuzestan—to ensure smooth fuel distribution.
In addition, emergency fuel cards and special Arbaeen fuel cards have been issued for buses and trucks participating in the operation to guarantee uninterrupted access to fuel.
He advised pilgrims to use public transportation whenever possible, noting that parking and traffic congestion at border terminals can create significant challenges. Those traveling by private vehicles were urged to fill their fuel tanks before reaching crowded border areas.
