Elon Musk Makes Headlines on the Eve of the U.S. Elections

According to the Iranian news outlet Seda-ye Sama, citing The New York Times, Elon Musk, the American billionaire and the world’s richest person, donated $276 million to Republican candidates’ election campaigns ahead of the U.S. midterm congressional elections.
According to the newspaper’s report, the full amount was paid starting in July, placing Musk at the top of the list of the largest financial supporters of Republicans for the November elections.
As a result, his total spending during this election cycle has reached $366 million.
The largest recipient of these contributions was the Senate Leadership Fund, a Republican-affiliated political action committee, which received $158 million. The money was intended to help the party retain control of the upper chamber of Congress.
This is not the first time that the head of SpaceX and Tesla has spent huge sums on U.S. elections. In 2024, Musk also spent $290 million to support Donald Trump’s re-election as president of the United States. However, his subsequent involvement in the Trump administration led to tensions between the two, and Musk eventually left the U.S. government.
