$9 Billion Pentagon Deal for the Sale of F-15 Jets to Israel

The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) has signed an $8.6 billion contract with Boeing to supply the Israeli Air Force with 25 new F-15 fighter jets, with an option to purchase 25 additional aircraft.
Work under the contract, which is part of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, is expected to be completed by the end of 2035.
According to Reuters, the news was announced in a Pentagon statement released on Monday, December 29. The contract includes the development, integration, testing, production, and delivery of 25 new F-15 fighter jets for the Israeli Air Force, with the option to acquire 25 more.
The Pentagon emphasized that the agreement is being implemented under the Foreign Military Sales program, which facilitates the sale of U.S. weapons to foreign partners. The United States remains the primary arms supplier to Israel, one of its key allies in the Middle East.
The announcement followed a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida. The Pentagon stated that the contract work will be carried out in St. Louis, and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2035./ ISNA
