Continued Rise in Global Oil Prices; Brent Approaches $100 per Barrel

According to Sedaye Sama News, global oil prices rose sharply today, reaching their highest level in nearly two months. Escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and concerns over potential disruptions to oil supplies were cited as the main drivers behind the price increase.

According to Reuters, Brent crude climbed to nearly $100 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude surpassed $90 per barrel. The rally followed growing concerns over the security of key global energy shipping routes.

Reuters also reported that rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait have heightened market concerns about possible disruptions to oil exports from the Persian Gulf. Analysts believe that any restrictions on tanker traffic could put additional upward pressure on oil prices.

Meanwhile, investment bank Goldman Sachs warned that if disruptions to major oil transportation routes continue, Brent crude could exceed $120 per barrel in the coming months.
