Iran Air’s Boeing 727 Flight Simulator Returns to Pilot Training

Iran Air’s Director General of Flight Operations Training has announced that the airline’s Boeing 727 flight simulator has returned to pilot training and assessment following the resolution of technical issues.
The simulator, which has been part of Iran Air’s training system since around 1982, has been restored to operation through the efforts of Iranian specialists after a period of downtime.
It enables pilots to practice normal, abnormal, and emergency flight scenarios, assess crew performance, and take specialized courses, including Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC), which prepares pilots for safe and effective operations in a two-pilot cockpit.
The simulator also offers training opportunities for external applicants and international pilots. In the past, trainees from countries including Kyrgyzstan have used the facility for Boeing 727 training.
The first training course following the interruption was held in September, with new courses scheduled to begin on October 10 (18 Mehr in the Iranian calendar). Iran Air is also exploring opportunities to expand its training capabilities through simulator facilities related to the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
The simulator’s return marks an important step in maintaining pilot training standards and preserving domestic technical expertise in aviation.
