Extension of Import Deadlines for Raw Materials, Production Equipment, Medicines, and Medical Devices

According to Sedaye Sama News, the deadline for importing production raw materials, intermediate goods, production line spare parts, medicines, and medical equipment may be extended by up to 8 months, while the deadline for importing production machinery and equipment may be extended by up to 12 months, subject to review and approval by the Import Deadline Extension Committee.

At its 116th meeting, the Committee approved measures to address the challenges faced by manufacturing enterprises by extending import deadlines.

The resolution states that, in light of the Ramadan War and the emergency conditions affecting the country’s foreign trade, and pursuant to the authorities granted to the Committee under the Supreme National Security Council’s resolution of March 2, 2026 (11 Esfand 1404) and its subsequent amendments under the “National Economic Resilience and Civil Defense Package in Emergency Conditions,” the following measures have been adopted.

The objective is to prevent additional costs for producers and losses caused by delays in shipping that are beyond the control of importers, while ensuring a uniform approach to reviewing requests for deadline extensions.

Accordingly, for all import orders whose goods have not entered the customs territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the original import deadline or the shipping document submission deadline, and whose shipping document deadline falls between February 27, 2026 (9 Esfand 1404) and two months after the end of the emergency period, the following extensions may be granted:

• Production raw materials, intermediate goods, production line spare parts, medicines, and medical equipment: up to 8 months.
• Production machinery and production line equipment: up to 12 months.

Importers wishing to benefit from this support must submit documentation relating to production, shipment, and the reasons for the import delay, together with a formal extension request, to the Secretariat of the Import Deadline Extension Committee (Office of Foreign Exchange and Financial Services). Following review and verification of the required conditions, the Committee may approve an extension within the prescribed limits.
